Stolen Fruits, Ripened for Harvest examines the female body as a site of extraction, control and consumption within patriarchal systems. Responding in part to the rise of Reform UK and the increasing normalisation of misogynistic rhetoric within British politics, the work considers the continued policing of women’s bodies and reproductive autonomy.

Drawing on forced pregnancy, forced abortion and gender-based violence in warfare, rotting fruit forms become corrupted wombs: images of fertility distorted by coercion, exploitation and neglect. Through repetition and fragmentation, the female body becomes at once vessel, commodity and expendable resource.
